The food justice subcommittee strives to find different ways to help students who may experience or are at risk of food insecurity. Our goal is to promote health and highlight accessible nutrition resources along with reducing food waste, on and off campus. Some specific activities we plan to accomplish during the Fall 2020-Spring 2021 school year are; promoting weekly fresh food tutorials via the SNDA’s social media, promoting ways to utilize 100% produce and reduce food waste, encouraging quick and easy meals using produce provided by the SFSU food pantry and gator groceries, provide insights for pantry stables, how to shop on a budgets, menu planning, encourage home gardening and taking care of in-home herbs. If you think you might be interested in volunteering for our Food Justice Subcommittee we are happily accepting applicants. If you want to stay up to date on our progress, you can follow our postings on the SNDA’s Facebook or Instagram page.
